SiXX Wordpress Microblog theme is a microblog theme with focus on the conversation. The aimed purpose with the theme is for companies and teams to get their internal communication going in a much more open, searchable and informal way. This theme is built on top of the Automattic Prologue theme, maybe it should be called an extension of the prologue theme.

Download SiXX Wordpress Microblog Theme
Installation
1. Unpack and upload to your server. Enable the theme
2. Activate all plugins included in the theme
3. Create a page from the template Tag and give it the slug “tag-archive”
4. Make sure that “author bio” and “url” are mandatory in the Register Plus plugin settings, since these fields are used in the author page.
5. Update the permalink structure.
You are all set! Remember this is just an idea and not a finished and polished theme. If we all contribute, it can be something really good. Therefor I kindly ask to let me know when you develop the theme further, so that the theme can evolve.
For companies an LDAP plugin would do the trick so you do not need an extra login.

Nice job, but my install doesn’t seem to look quite right. The theme appears ‘crowded’ as you can see at sportstwit.com.
Thoughts?
Thx
@scot When I visit your site it seems fine, maybe you found the problem. Even checked with my iPhone and it looks ok there too.
If it is something I don’t see please let me know.
Scot, can you make steps three, four and five a little more descriptive? Maybe with some screenshots, it would really help.
Thank you, looking forward to install on a few microblog domains!
One more question, how do we integrate adsense or ads?
@skg I´ll give your questions a try here:
3. When you create a page there is an option to choose from template, there you choose the “Tag” template and give it the name of “Tag Archive”. You can give it another name but then you must make sure your “page-slug” is set to “tag-archive”.
4. In the plugin “Register Plus” you can choose wich fields that are mandatory when you register. Set those fields to mandatory. That is because on the author page the theme fetches the website and author bio from your profile (by default in Wordpress and without Register-plus these fields are optional)
5. A standard wordpress installation comes with the url like http://yourdomain.com/?p=11 or something like that. the theme requires that you set the permalinks in the settings to an option (of your choosing) that has the structure without the ?p=11 I would recommend the “month & name” (third from top in the permalink settings).
About the ads it is the same as any other theme. I do not have any additional info there.
Good luck and hope you enjoy the theme.
Thanks Fredrik!
Fredrik, I am confused as to why I need to create a page, step three. I uploaded the template to RealEstateMicroblog.com can you take a look.
@frederik
You’re right, I have it working OK now. It seemed to be an issue with Buddypress. Anyhow, we have it working nicely, albeit with style changes, at http://hockeytalk.fantasyhockeynetwork.com.
Cheers
The only issue I’m having is avatars are not showing up in comments. This too may be a Buddypress conflict issue.
@ Fredrik Stenbeck
For #3 – When creating a page, there is no option to choose the “Tag” template. How to locate it?
Thanks
@M Chang If the tag.php (that is incl) is in the folder it should work and appear in the drop down meny when creating a page. It is a simple template page, so nothing special.
Thanks Fredrik! The tag.php is there in the folder but it does not appear in the drop-down menu when creating a page.
Regarding #4 – After the plugin “Register Plus” is activated, from where to choose fields to be mandatory?
Also, how to get the 140 character text box and give it a tag box on the top of the page like the screen shot above?
Thanks
@M Chang If you have everything on your server with all the files in the sixx theme folder it should work. If not I don’t know since I am not a techie unfortunately. The box only appears when you are logged in though.
The register plus options do you find in the settings for the plugin.
Good luck.
Fredrik, in your instruction to template tag, it is missing. How do I find it? I am using wordpress 2.7
@ Sanchay, Yes with WordPress 2.7, tag.php does not appear in the drop-down menu when creating a page. Can any one help?
Thanks
Try to activate the theme again and then it should appear.

Fredrik, I reactivated but that does not work.
@sanchay This is not an issue with the theme so I can not help further unfortunately.
@Sanchay – I checked out the topic link provided by Fredrik and did the following.
Open tag.php and copy the follow code right on the top:
Try it out and when you create a new page, under the Template section, you will find “Tag Archive” in the drop-down.
This is with reference to # 3 – When you create a page there is an option to choose from template, there you choose the “Tag” template and give it the name of “Tag Archive”. You can give it another name but then you must make sure your “page-slug” is set to “tag-archive”.
Oops, the code does not get copied here
@Scot
I don’t believe that is related to BuddyPress. My avaters aren’t showing up in comments either, but I am not using BP.
I too cannot get the post form to show up, except when I log in as administrator. If I log in as a subscriber/member only the posts appear.
It is important to understand how to do this. When one unpacks the sixx zip file there are more files than the sixx theme directory in it. One is plugins. another is -MACOSX. I assume the latter is Mac op system X?
So, something seems to be missing.
Oh, to get the page slug you have to in 2.7 click on screen options and then activate page slug.
Just discovered you need to make a new member an “Author” for the form to appear when you click on the top of page link to “visit site”.
This is done by editing the user and setting them to author instead of subscriber or contributor.
do we any chance to hide admin panel for authors?
people can see main page but they shouldnt see admin panel, or they just must see post new at admin panel and profile section.

Great idea, great theme! Thanks a lot!
Hi there,
@ Irfan, could you please tell me how to extend the number of characters?
Thanks a lot –
Jacob
@jacob Check the post-form.php there you can change the amount. Good Luck.
Hi,
Thanks for the wonderful theme.
is there a way to disable links ? If we set the new users to go to author role, they are allowed to post links which will lead to spam eventually (if u have unknown people signing up specially). An option to disable links will be great.
